His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Taqi al-Mudarrisi, may his shadow be extended, emphasized the necessity of leadership for all human societies, regardless of their orientation or size, explaining that the divine order of creation necessitates leadership for every entity, including human societies.
This came during his meeting with a delegation of officials from the Popular Mobilization Forces in the Iraqi provinces at his office in the holy city of Karbala. His Eminence clarified that effective leadership for a faithful community is embodied in three categories: scholars, mujahideen (those engaged in jihad), and people of remembrance (dhikr). He considered the “scholarly mujahideen” to be the pinnacle of these categories due to their combination of knowledge, jihad, and remembrance.
Grand Ayatollah al-Mudarrisi explained that the role of leaders is to purify and educate society and organize its relationships in a way that contributes to building a firmly established civilization. He pointed out that the concept of “Ilaf” (family covenant) mentioned in Surah Quraysh {For the security of the Quraysh} expresses the foundations of harmony and cooperation, which are among the pillars of human civilization. His Eminence called upon the officials and leadership of the Popular Mobilization Forces to fulfill their role in protecting society intellectually and spiritually, emphasizing the importance of equipping individuals not only with combat skills but also with knowledge, understanding, and faith. He also advised members of the PMF to purify their souls and deepen their understanding of religion in order to carry out their noble mission with awareness and insight.
