A delegation from the Malaysia branch of the International Union of Muslim Scholars paid a friendly visit to the Office of the Federal Territories Mufti, in a meeting that reflected the spirit of brotherhood and joint cooperation in serving the issues of the Ummah and enhancing religious and scholarly work in Malaysia.
The delegation was headed by Mr. Wan Sebki bin Wan Saleh, Mr. Nie Omar Nie Abdul Aziz, Dr. Shazali Herman Ahmad Najib, Mr. Abdul Rahman Hakim Muhammad Jalil, Mr. Muhammad Shukri bin Ismail, and Dr. Nie Rahim bin Nie Wagis.
During the meeting, the letter appointing the Federal Territories Mufti as an advisor to the Malaysia branch of the International Union of Muslim Scholars was delivered, where His Eminence expressed his thanks and appreciation for this trust and honor, affirming his appreciation for initiatives aimed at serving society and strengthening the role of scholarly and da’wah institutions.
The meeting also addressed several contemporary intellectual and da’wah issues concerning Muslims, most notably the application of “Fiqh al-Mizan” in da’wah work, in a way that achieves balance between adherence to the principles of Sharia, wisdom in presentation, good management, and consideration of the diverse Malaysian society.
The delegation also presented a proposal to organize the “Fiqh al-Mizan Forum,” aiming to enhance awareness of a balanced and moderate da’wah methodology based on scholarly discipline and intellectual moderation.
A proposal for a “Training of Trainers (TOT) for Palestine” program was also presented, aiming to prepare active community cadres to enhance awareness of the Palestinian cause and support community advocacy efforts.
The Federal Territories Mufti’s Office welcomed the initiatives presented by the Union, affirming its support for programs aimed at enhancing public education and strengthening solidarity with Palestine. It also proposed expanding the scope of cooperation through visits and communication sessions with mufti offices in various Malaysian states, contributing to maximizing the benefit of future programs and initiatives.
The meeting also witnessed an exchange of views on opportunities for strategic cooperation in the fields of academic programs, leadership training, capacity building for preachers and students of knowledge, in addition to strengthening the role of da’wah institutions in facing contemporary challenges.
In conclusion, the Malaysia branch of the International Union of Muslim Scholars expressed its deep appreciation to the Federal Territories Mufti’s Office for the warm reception and spirit of cooperation, affirming its aspiration to continue joint work in serving the interests of the Ummah and enhancing societal stability.
It is hoped that this visit will represent an important step toward strengthening relations between scholarly and da’wah institutions in Malaysia, contributing to building a more aware and united society rooted in values of mercy and moderation.
