His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Taqi al-Mudarrisi, may his shadow be extended, affirmed that God Almighty has endowed humankind with immense potential for work and contribution. However, what people actually utilize represents only a small fraction of their capabilities. He attributed this to laziness in work and giving, or to a lack of awareness of the vastness of these capabilities.
In a televised address to a gathering of professors from seminaries and Religious Authority in Tanzania, His Eminence pointed out that God has instilled in humanity a spirit of aspiration for great goals and accomplishments. He stressed that people should utilize this spirit to unleash their potential. He explained that the failure to benefit from this spirit stems from the absence of Quranic culture among many people—a culture that fosters reliance on God and motivates them to unleash their potential. Meanwhile, others hold a negative culture that leads them to be content with merely providing for their basic needs, such as food and drink, thus limiting their potential, diminishing their contributions to this world, and ultimately hindering their progress.
His Eminence addressed the attendees, saying: “God Almighty has blessed you to walk the path of truth and guidance. You must carry the banner of guidance and call to God, so that many may follow you to Paradise, guided to the straight path by your call and your preaching.”
