According to News 33, the governor of Taybad said at a meeting of the National Shrines Development and Reconstruction Headquarters: The construction of a permanent Arbaeen camp for Afghan pilgrims who travel to Iraq every year in the last days of Safar through the official Dogharun crossing is worth 300 billion rials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hossein Jamshidi added: Given the annual increase in the number of Afghan pilgrims entering Iraq and visiting the holy shrines, it is necessary to build this cultural site at the official Dogharun crossing, and a five-hectare area has been planned for its study phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He continued: In 1403 and during the mourning period of the final month of Safar, more than 63,000 Afghan pilgrims entered the Islamic Republic of Iran through the official Dogharun border to travel to Iraq. Last year, no pilgrims entered Iran from the Dogharun side for this spiritual journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stated: Providing the necessary infrastructure and having facilities for the pilgrims of the neighboring country of Afghanistan requires national funds and requires special attention from the country’s governing bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jamshidi said: The Dogharoon border is the first perspective to the Islamic Republic of Iran for Afghan citizens, and all the institutions in charge of the country, provincial and local, should provide a platform for the presence and easy travel of Afghan lovers and sweethearts during the months of Muharram and Safar from this border to the holy Mashhad and the holy shrines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added: The Dogharoon border is considered the most important gateway for the entry of Afghan travelers and pilgrims to Karbala, and all necessary capacities should be used to honor them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He continued: In the past 9 years and during the months of Muharram and Safar and the days when Afghan citizens entered Dogharoon to depart for the pilgrimage to Karbala, Shiite and Sunni benefactors of this border region were at work and prepared the ground for a worry-free journey for the pilgrims of this neighboring country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Imam of Friday prayers in Taybad also said: The problems of this area should be identified every year at the Dogharun border, and efforts should be made to remove the obstacles ahead with planning and the efforts of the authorities with the necessary preparation to welcome the pilgrims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hojjat-ul-Salam Hossein Maleki Abardeh added: The benefactors of this border town have always been active in all areas, and undoubtedly, if credit is needed in advance for the construction operations of the permanent Arbaeen camp in this area, they will also be with the responsible agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He continued: All necessary national, provincial and city capacities should be used to provide an easy and lasting journey for Afghan pilgrims in Dogharun and Taybad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Afghan nationals officially began their journey from the Dogharun border to this country in 2017 to participate in the mourning rituals for the end of the months of Muharram and Safar, but with the outbreak of Corona, these pilgrimage trips were stopped in 2020 and 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
