His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Taqi al-Modarresi, may God prolong his life, emphasized that many members of the Muslim community are afflicted with apathy towards current events and issues affecting them. This apathy leads them to remain silent and passive in the face of injustice, tyranny, and massacres perpetrated against their fellow Muslims. He called for a thorough examination of this phenomenon and the development of effective solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his weekly moral address to students of the religious seminary in the holy city of Karbala, His Eminence stated that one of the causes of this moral crisis is the influence of the media of the enemies of the Muslim community and the blind trust placed in it, including their satellite channels and websites. This undermines a Muslim’s trust in their faith and their fellow Muslims, while simultaneously allowing the deeply distorted media to become a source of culture, thought, and understanding of reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addressing this problem, His Eminence the Grand Ayatollah called for a return to the Holy Quran, considering its recitation and contemplation of its verses as essential prerequisites for overcoming this crisis. He also pointed out that spiritual and intellectual ailments require more treatment than physical ones. Furthermore, he explained that Surah An-Nas (Chapter 114 of the Quran) refers to seeking refuge in God from the evil of those who whisper deviant thoughts and false information, weakening our self-confidence and trust in our brothers and sisters, and distancing us from the primary source of true knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
